Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Hybrid Concept revealed at Paris

Porsche has revealed the Panamera Sport Turismo concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo, if put into production, will compete with cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake and the Jaguar XF Sports Brake.
The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept uses a plug-in hybrid system which is an improved version of the one used in the current Panamera S and Cayenne S hybrid models. This new e-hybrid system uses the 333-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V6 and a 95-hp electric motor (powered by a 9.4 kWh lithium-ion battery) for generating 416 horsepower (combined). The combined power is good for a 0-100 kph sprint time of under 6 seconds. The concept can also run at speeds upto 130 kph and cover 30-kilometer while using only electric power, however, not doing both simultaneously of-course By utilizing the car’s electric mode carefully, drivers of the Panamera Sport Turismo can realize fuel economy as high as 3.5 litres per/100km claims Porsche.

While the Panamera Sedan might be an eye sore for some hardcore 911 fans, the Sport Turismo may be liked more because of its rear three quarters looks. We quite liked the rear with its bold lines and integrated tail lamps. The front, however, is more reminiscent of the Panamera, but with design cues from the new 911. It sports a new lift gate and a sharper roofline that draw straight lines into the rear hatch. LED lightning is available in the headlamps with squared off four-pack of lights rather than round projectors.
The Panamera Sports Turismo's interior features leather upholstery with metallic trim. The digital instrumentation cluster matches the sportiness of the car while the twin cameras on extreme side of the cluster are meant to replace the exterior mirror cameras.

2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer launched in the Middle East

General Motors has launched the 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer in the Middle East. The mid size SUV gets fresh looks but retains body on frame construction. Designed at General Motors design and development center in Brazil, the new mid size SUV underwent nearly 3 million kilometers of combined testing on test mules prior to its launch.
The 2013 Chevrolet trailblazer comes with just one engine in the Middle East – a 3.6 liter V6 capable of producing 236 horsepower with peak torque of 329 Nm. A 6 speed auto transmission is mated to the engine.
There are two core variants – LT and LTZ with two wheel drive or four wheel drive options. Prices start from AED 114,000 for the LT two wheel drive version and go all the way up to AED 129,000 for top of the range LTZ four wheel drive version.
Designed to seat seven adults in three rows of seats, General Motors claims that the 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer is their toughest and most refined mid size SUV to date.

Raul: Clasico draw a fair result

Real Madrid icon Raul feels that the 2-2 draw in Sunday's Clasico versus Barcelona at Camp Nou was the just outcome.

The former Spain international was hoping for a victory for the titleholders, but admitted that neither of the two sides deserved to lose.

'I would obviously have liked it if had Madrid won the game and closed the gap on Barca a bit, but a draw was a fair result in my opinion,' he told Al Jazeera.

'Both teams were on top of their game and put in a good performance, looking for a reward in the form of the full three points. Neither of the teams got the victory they were after, but it was a game to remember.

'The title race isn't over just yet. There are still many games to be played. It's true that Barcelona are in a better position, though, as they maintained their eight-point lead.'

Real Madrid sit in joint fifth position in La Liga following this weekend's results.

Guardiola would be perfect for Arsenal, claims former Barcelona defender Marquez

Former Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez believes Pep Guardiola would be the 'perfect' manager for Arsenal.

The 33-year-old played under the Spanish coach at Camp Nou for two seasons before his move to MLS side New York Red Bulls in August 2010.

Guardiola has been linked with a host of top European sides following his departure from Barcelona at the end of last season, while Goal.com exclusively revealed in September that Sir Alex Ferguson has earmarked the 41-year-old as one of two candidates to succeed him at Manchester United, with the other potential appointment being Jose Mourinho.

But Marquez claims that the ex-Barca man would be a better replacement for Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium and expects that the Spaniard's next managerial role will be in the Premier League.

'Guardiola will soon return to the game. I think he'll go to England. He'd be perfect for Arsenal,' Marquez told Cadena SER.

Cristiano Ronaldo gets green light for Portugal

Real Madrid's medical team have given Cristiano Ronaldo the green light to travel to Portugal to report for international duty.
The prolific attacker sustained a shoulder injury in Madrid's 2-2 La Liga draw away against Barcelona on Sunday, and there were fears that he would face a spell on the sidelines.
Nevertheless, Ronaldo has undergone further examination by Madrid's doctors at his home, and the Spanish champions have announced on their official website that the injury is not too serious.
The 27-year-old is expected to fly to his homeland on Monday afternoon as Portugal gather in Obidos ahead of their upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Russia on Friday and versus Northern Ireland four days later.
The Seleccao sit joint first in their qualification section with Russia. Both sides have collected six points from two games.
